Within our team we have a broad range of marketing expertise, which is how we deliver great service to our clients, and how we maintain our 5 star reviews. However, sometimes a client request requires expertise that we don’t have in-house. Like many agencies, this is when we call upon our trusted team of outsourced freelancers.
We thought it was time our freelance colleagues got some of the spotlight, starting this month with Karin, our German translator.
So, why do we need a German translator?
As part of our marketing work, we often undertake the management of overseas websites. One of the key websites we manage is based in Germany, and the nature of the product means that we need to have a native German speaker handling the text. This includes product descriptions, as well as helping us to produce copy for social media, Meta ads and Google Ads.
Whilst translations tools or AI tools such as ChatGPT can help, when it comes to understanding the way product information should be presented to a local audience, we find Karin’s knowledge invaluable. Her expertise has helped us to achieve and maintain growth targets for our clients across Europe.
Karin is from Bozen/Bolzano/Bulsan (South-Tyrol, a trilingual area in Northern Italy) that is famous for housing the mummified remains of Ötzi the Iceman, a 5,300-year-old mummy found in the Ötztal Alps in 1991. She now resides in Leicester, and team MUV work closely with Karin on a daily basis via Google Chat and workspace.
Karin says the following about her work –
“I have been working as a freelancer for 11 years now, having started in 2012. Initially, I focused on creating German and English content for various international companies and individuals, including blog articles, corporate marketing brochures, training manuals, online quizzes, product and book reviews, eBooks, eLearning courses and interviews with subject matter experts. Since 2017, I have been working as a translator, handling diverse content from English to German (70%) and from German to English (30%) in the business, science, and technical domains.”
Karin has worked extensively with digital marketing agencies across Europe in addition to business professionals, entrepreneurs, lawyers, online publishers, Amazon merchants, and students, among other professions.
The work Karin has undertaken for us allows us to broaden the level of service we can provide to our clients. We are able to not only manage websites, but manage the production and marketing of sites in other countries, serving other languages and markets. We can manage currencies and establish new customer bases, in territories our clients might not have otherwise reached.
As for working with the MUV team, Karin had some very kind closing words; “I’ve been consistently receiving translation assignments from MUV for the past 20 months, and it’s been a great experience. I’m always promptly informed when new content is ready for translation. The entire team, both long standing members and newcomers, along with the management executives, has been exceptionally polite and appreciative of my work’s speed and accuracy. The management team are not only thoughtful and honest but also ensure that payments are made promptly, which, especially in these challenging times, is something I truly value. It shows that MUV is a company that genuinely cares about its employees, and I feel fortunate to be a part of such a positive and supportive work environment.”
Thank you Karin for all your incredible work, and for contributing to MUV and our client’s success.
